DOTA: Dragon’s Blood: Incomprehensible Epic Fantasy
Cards on the table, I went into this show to see what a layman might get out of a DOTA series. I don’t know the games or the lore. I had almost no idea what DOTA: Dragon’s Blood would be like.

I want to be kinder to The Irregulars. The premise of the show is so cool, the ideas off the wall, but the execution is always the crux—and it’s just not there. I appreciate the colorblind casting and the attempts to be unique in its subject matter. That’s refreshing. I just wish the surrounding show was better.

In defending the modern concept of a vampire, you might assume that I’m defending the Twilight series or other trashy books in the paranormal romance genre. I am not.

I’m late to the party for the Raya and the Last Dragon trailer. The newest Disney Princess movie is coming out in only a few days.

Helluva Boss is no Hazbin Hotel. It does not even come close. But does that mean I hate the show? No—I don’t even actively dislike it. There are redeeming aspects to this internet series, but it’s also got a lot of the bad parts of Hazbin, with a lot less of the charm.

I vaguely recall the original Winx Club show. My main memory of the series was the catchy 4Kids intro and that it was similar to W.I.T.C.H. But I know that among many it was a childhood classic.

And, as a happy and average player, I want to describe the appeal of the F.I.R.E. (“fun,” “inviting,” “replayable,” and “exciting”) philosophy.

While I’m not planning to make a habit out of reviewing Webtoon comics, Omniscient Reader caught my attention because of its sudden spiking popularity, and admittedly strong initial premise.

It’s a subversive funhouse. A lot of the initial expected trappings seem in place, but the show ruthlessly attacks tropes from the second episode onward. Nothing plays out the way it should, and often the show has a sense of ever-present danger usually lacking from children’s fantasy cartoons.
