Hawkeye: The Marvel Miniseries Hits Its Target

0

By Brandon Scott on Dec 20th, 2021

The problem with reviewing Hawkeye is not that it’s bad, but that it’s so consistently good, in that specific Marvel way, that to describe it in usual terms doesn’t work.

Why I Didn’t Watch Trese Episode 2

0

By Brandon Scott on Oct 20th, 2021

Trese has an awful first episode. It’s such an underwhelming piece of animated storytelling in almost every regard. I’m probably not even going to watch three episodes for a full review.

Loki: Marvel’s Master Stroke

0

By Brandon Scott on Jun 14th, 2021

Loki is the best thing that Marvel has made since perhaps The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. I’ve yet to see the latest Spiderman, so there’s that gap, but the quality of this show is not to be underestimated.

M.O.D.O.K.: A Disjointed Comedy With Heart

0

By Brandon Scott on May 31st, 2021

With the doors opened by Deadpool, we were bound to see another R-rated Marvel comedy. But M.O.D.O.K. was not the villain I would’ve expected.

Invincible: The Bait-And-Switch Superhero Show

0

By Brandon Scott on Apr 14th, 2021

The advertising for Invincible was deceptive. From what little was shown, I figured it would be a generic superhero show with maybe some twist to it. But the first thing I see is the M-rating for violence and sexual themes.

Darkwing Duck Retrospective Part 2: 2017’s DuckTales

0

By Brandon Scott on Mar 31st, 2021

If the scant episodes of DuckTales featuring Darkwing Duck are anything to go on, then the Disney+ remake will be excellent. The bits that we’ve seen so far are both love letters to the series and poke fun at the show’s nature.

Darkwing Duck Retrospective Part 1: 1991’s Darkwing Duck

0

By Brandon Scott on Mar 29th, 2021

This is unfortunate for several reasons. One being because Darkwing Duck is a great show. I understand now why it has the fanbase it does, and why they bothered to include it in DuckTales.

WandaVision: Already An Excellent Pastiche

0

By Brandon Scott on Jan 20th, 2021

WandaVision is one of the freshest, strangest, most experimental things that the Marvel cinematic universe has produced. And considering Guardians of the Galaxy exists, that’s quite a thing to say.

Omniscient Reader: Flashy And Empty

0

By Brandon Scott on Jan 15th, 2021

While I’m not planning to make a habit out of reviewing Webtoon comics, Omniscient Reader caught my attention because of its sudden spiking popularity, and admittedly strong initial premise.

I’m The Grim Reaper: A Dark and Beautiful Comic

0

By Brandon Scott on Oct 23rd, 2020

Reviewing I’m the Grim Reaper is a novelty. To my knowledge, this is the first time we’ve covered a Webtoon on Scifibloggers.

D.C. Super Hero Girls: Fastest-Paced Fun

0

By Brandon Scott on Mar 23rd, 2020

D.C. Super Hero Girls Has Serious Energy I was ill-prepared for D.C. Super Hero Girls. While I know that, among some nay-sayers, cartoons can be considered a little too fast, a little too manic, and exhausting to watch—I’ve never really found that to be the case. Except for this show really is absurdly fast. The…

Locke & Key: Less Drama, More Magic Keys!

0

By Brandon Scott on Mar 11th, 2020

Does Locke & Key Match Its Pedigree? Having not been familiar with the work of Joe Hill, I didn’t know what to expect with Locke & Key the show. Certainly, the intro, with its hyper obsession with keys, caught my interest, but cool ideas for shows an intro does not make. But I’m pleased to report…
