Robonaut 2-Next Generation Robot

Robonaut 2 – Next Generation Robot by NASA and GM. Robonaut 2 news and press release.

Through a partnership with NASA, GM announced the development of a next generation robot. Together, the two organizations developed and built Robonaut2, or R2 for short. R2 is a dexterous humanoid robot (looks human-like) capable of working side by side with people. This advanced robotics technology has the potential to help GM create safer cars, safer manufacturing plants, and for NASA, the possibility of assisting astronauts on dangerous space missions. GM’s strategy is to develop assembly processes that integrate robotic technology with people. In addition, GM is actively looking for ways to apply the technology to develop leading edge advanced vehicle safety systems.

  • Holierthan,I agree with your standpoint. Your elaopnatixn makes sense. My only rebuttal is that I would still consider Star Wars to exist under the gigantic umbrella term "Science Fiction" even though "Fantasy" makes more sense. However, I really just chose those pictures because I found them entertaining. The main reason that science fiction is not "kicking in" is that it's taking me what looks like 40,000 plus words just to hash out who the characters are. I guess that's the point of the exercise. No full plot line will come out of this, and that's fine with me.A. Ruiz,Go sit on a dick.
