Private Space Taxi reaches orbit
SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Friday reaching orbit 9 minutes later. The new rocket-type is privately owned and it may in the future carry NASA astronauts to orbit.
“This has been a good day for SpaceX and a promising development for the US human space flight programme,” said Robyn Ringuette of SpaceX in a webcast of the launch.

SRB's cannot be turned off once started. After the Challenger accident, it turned out that Werner Von Braun was right.
