Wind: You’re Going To Cry So Much
Wind is even better than Smash and Grab, and that’s saying a lot. SparkShorts, it turns out, are some of the best short films I’ve ever seen. And they’re quite different from each other, with unique settings, characters, and stories.

Turning Red: Pixar Succeeds Again
My reviewing of Turning Red has to, by the sheer presence of its theming, contain caveats. It’s a movie that has a heavy focus on periods and mother-daughter conflicts during adolescence. As an adult male reviewer, it’s not my place to speculate on how true to life this movie is. I’ve simply not grown up as a teenage girl.
Burrow: Another Amazing Animated Short
While I have yet to see Soul, the animation planned to precede it in theaters is as good as one might expect. It’s cute, funny, and so well-animated it’s kind of insane.
Pixar Popcorn: An Absolute Delight
Each is about two minutes, give or take, and—I’m betting for budget or time reasons—it has no actually voiced characters. There’s just “reaction sounds” that could have easily been taken from an existing movie.
