TV PREP: True Blood – “May Be the Last Time”

The seventh episode of True Blood‘s final season feels like preparation for the real action. After some episodes which focused on the characters and their feelings, it is now necessary to establish a few key issues to be resolved in an epic finale.

The struggle never ends for our poor Sookie Stackhouse, who now not only has to face Bill’s imminent demise, but also the discovery that she is, in fact, the cause of his illness. If that wasn’t enough, she’s a royal faerie, meaning that the virus is spreading way faster in Bill than it normally would. Life isn’t getting any easier for Sookie, who’s never been this miserable.

She’s not alone. Jason has to deal with Hoyt’s return, his “short memory” best friend, and also with his crazy ex-girlfriend, who appears to have disappeared from town. But that would be too good, and we know that “True Blood” and “happy ending” are not to be used in the same sentence. In reality, the b*itch is playing with Adilyn and her new young love. She uses the children sickening ways but never reveals her true intentions (which are already quite predictable, I suppose). Their parents go around the city looking for them. I have to say, I was really impressed and moved by Andy’s reaction. He is a man who has been tested his whole life, simply wanting to protect the ones he loved (unfortunately, they always happen to be in some kind of danger).

Moreover, everyone is f***ing up right now. Arlene is in love with a five hundred-year-old vampire (and she is V positive), Lafayette and his crazy aunt are following Tara’s ghost all over the place and even the new major is having trouble with a girl who just can’t stand Bon Temps no more. Can we really blame her?

Leaving town, we end up with Eric and Pam, who are after that annoying thing called Sarah Newlin. She’s switched from Christian to Vampire Terminator to Buddist and now proclaims herself the new Messiah since she bears the cure 0f the V virus.

While Eric’s first plan was to kill her, he is now allying with the producers of Tru Blood to take her blood and cure every vampire. Why kill someone when you can make a hell of a lot of money out of them?

In conclusion, the situation is critical and everything needs to be resolved. The only sure thing is that it is going to be epic. While we wait, we can enjoy a nice resurgence of passion between Bill and Sookie. They’re basically waiting to die, so why not have fun in the meantime?
