The Sims 4 Gets a Star Wars Update

0

By Carly Fjeld on November 10th, 2014

tSo, you’ve had a few weeks to figure out The Sims 4. It’s definitely different. There are new emotions and tasks, and the Create-A-Sim offers loads of new features for you to choose and manipulate.

Monthly updates have been adding content to the players simulated reality. Recently, they added ghosts, gnomes and, most excitingly, the addition of Star Wars attire for your personal collection. The ghosts do add something cool to the game. You can still play as a ghost and maintain your attributes and you gain special behaviors depending on how you died. You can even welcome a member of the ghostly realm to join you and your family. However, wearing Skywalker’s X-Wing suit is way better. There’s also a Vader suit, Leia’s white robes, and dress as Yoda, you can.

In November, pools are finally making a comeback. The game launched in September and the two biggest complaints were the lack of pools and toddlers. The Sims official website answered, “It begins with new technology and systems that we built for this new base game for The Sims – a new AI system, new animation system, new audio positioning tools, new locomotion logic, new routing intelligence and much more are all entirely new in this game. The vision for The Sims 4 is a new experience that brings your Sims to life in deeper and uniquely personal ways – through emotions, personality traits, behaviors and interactions. To do that, our technology base needed a major upgrade.” Fans complained that they didn’t want a “new” game, but an improvement of the existing game.

December is a time for holidays and your Sim is going to need some serious simoleans, so new career paths will be released along with other rewards.

Each these patches are free and available through Origin. Check out the Official Sims blog for updates here, and check out the trailer for the ghost additions below.
