Preparing for the X-Files

0

By Carly Fjeld on July 28th, 2015

The rebooted X-Files will premiere on January 24th, 2016, and until then you can tune into Fox, which will be showing one episode per day as part of their “201 Days” event. The episodes will be in chronological order and will end on January 23rd. The series is also available via Netflix, Hulu and Amazon.

If that doesn’t satisfy you then there was this footage released earlier this month.

The short clip shows Scully and Mulder hoisting flashlights and looking suspicious. Not much to go on, but it’s fifteen seconds of something! Of course Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny will be returning as well as Mitch Peleggi and William B. Davis, better known as Skinner and The Smoking Man, respectively.

Also, very recently announced are the additions of the The Lone Gunmen. The group, played by Dean Haglund, Bruce Hardwood and Tom Braidwood, will return! Which does bring up a lot of questions since they were killed in the episode “Jump the Shark.” The trio is so well-loved that a spin-off series was created around them in 2011, but only lasted 13 episodes. Damn you, Fox!

The reboot event is only six episodes long and will have a two-night premiere beginning on Sunday. The Monday night time slot is when the following episodes will air each week. Also appearing are The Flash’s Robbie Amell, Six Feet Under’s Lauren Ambrose, Community’s Joel McHale and Silicon Valley’s Kumail Nanjiani.

According to Den of Geek, we also know a little something about the storyline. Scully and Mulder are in very different places, but come together to find a missing alien abductee, played by The Americans’ Annet Mahendru. McHale’s character, a talk show host, tips off the team about the case. The episode is entitled “My Struggles.”
