Friday Fiction: Who We Were

HELLO EVERYONE, may I have your attention, please?! You’ve been patient! You’ve been diligent! You’ve been loyal! Now, for demonstrating such tremendous qualities, such incredible attributes, such unbelievable resolve, you shall be rewarded! Friends, bloggers, Earthlings, lend me your ears! The time has come, yet again, for you to get your proper dose of excitement, adventure, and intrigue! People of the Net, without further delay, I present to you this week’s FRRRRRRRRRRIDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY FICTIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
Sam…
…Sam, play it.
*Cue music.*
Behold, dear reader, the following:
A lamentation told in a rolling, long-sentence-filled, almost stream-of-consciousness (but not really) narrative style about a person and his friends from our world finding a different world where things are not much fun.
Reading it will only take a sitting, but we hope it leaves an effect on you. Perhaps it’ll make you think of how you might experience such a circumstance. We have no way to know—you’ve just got to:

And do not worry, it is only an experiment in form for the fun of it. It’ll be more normal next week.
