FantasyNameGenerators.com: Need A Name?

Every Major Character Needs A Name

Writing can be difficult—ask any writer. To create a good story, many things need to be accounted for regardless of the medium. One problem especially often pops up: naming the characters. Ever wonder why you hear so many stories that allude to the same few biblical, mythological, or historical references? It’s because names are hard to come up with, and harder yet to make them sound unique. You can’t name every character in a movie Bob, Joe, Sarah, or Jane—that gets super boring super-fast.

But what’s a person to do? Well, you can go look at tombstones, or flip open a phone book (if you still somehow have one in your house) or you can do the logical, easy thing: use a name generator.

And boy do I have a good one for you.

FantasyNameGenerators.com has a massive selection, and, despite the website name, does way, way more than fantasy characters. Hacker names, alien names, names for detectives, superheroes, ninjas. There are more than a hundred more categories. Are you writing a fan fiction? Well, they also have random names based on the templates from species, races, and groups in various sci-fi and fantasy franchises. Star Wars, Warhammer, and Lord of The Rings are just a small selection of the options.

A Name For Pretty Much Every Occasion

Even if I tried, it would take several articles to come close to covering all the options this site has. And that’s not even talking about the intricate stuff, like detailed descriptions of weapons, planets, prophecies, or alien species.

If you are planning to write a series, a novel, a D&D campaign, etc. and want a little help getting the creative juices flowing and filling out your world, why wouldn’t you use such a cool—and still updating itself—website such as this?

After all, you need a named supporting cast before they can embark on an adventure to go defeat the dark lord…
