Cimmerian Needs YOU!

In any movie/television series wherein the world has ended, the narrative is always the same: do what you can to survive in the post-apocalyptic world. But what happens when survivors are given a choice between staying alive and possibly saving the world?

Cimmerian takes place three years after a virus created by a group called the “Elite” has infected the entire world. The film follows three people, Belinda, Daniel and Roger, who are slowly dying from this disease and have taken refuge in an underground bunker. Their lives are turned upside down by the arrival of an old friend who has something that can change this new world.

Peter left the group three years before and has shown up wounded from being hunted by the Elite. He tells them that a cure has been created for the disease that can save them and every other survivor. Peter reveals that there are hundreds of other survivors waiting for the cure and he wants help bringing it to them.

What I find intriguing about Cimmerian’s plot is that it goes beyond the idea of the characters fighting for survival. On a show like The Walking Dead, no matter what kind of drama is put into the show, at its core it’s about these people trying to stay alive day after day. But the idea that this group of survivors hold the key to actually saving the world poses an interesting dilemma on their part.

Should they keep the cure for themselves and continue to hide from the mysterious Elite? Would the right thing be to brave the dangers and try to save what’s left of the world, and possibly die in the process? These kind of ambiguous questions are what will surely make this film a must-see sci-fi classic.

For this film to get made, a certain amount of funds have to be raised so production can move forward. If you would like to be a part of the production process, you can do so by donating to their Kickstarter right here.
