Assassin’s Creed 3 Editions for North America: To Buy or Not to Buy?

Assassin’s Creed fans, rejoice! Ubisoft has finally pulled up the curtains to unveil the AC III Limited Edition for North America, crafted especially for PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers. If you have seen the collectors editions made exclusively for Europe, you will probably be thinking damn, that’s an even better deal. Nevertheless, we may not have George Washington’s notebook or an exclusive medallion but we do have our own set of goodies. For $119.99, you will be a proud owner of the following assassin souvenirs:

  • Assassin’s Creed III video game.
  • Stunning 9.44? Assassin statue featuring Connor poised to strike with tomahawk and hidden blade.
  • Embroidered 28?x48? Assassin’s Creed-inspired colonial flag.
  • 3?x3.25? sturdy metal belt buckle to proudly proclaim your allegiance to the Assassins.

 

 

With 4th of July just barely over our heads, we now have an all-American package to fuel your patriotic needs. From what we can notice so far, the Connor figurine definitely takes center stage with its acute detail that shows off the tomahawk and hidden blade. One may take a look at the colonial flag and think really? A flag? but after browsing through numerous blogs and forums, this memorabilia has attracted quite a number of fans. Whether it will serve as a college dorm décor or a keepsake for next year’s independence day, you’ll be showing off your allegiance to your country and game. As for the belt buckle, I admit that it won’t let out the inner fashion diva in you but it can still serve as a neat trinket by itself.

Wait a minute, what about us PC gamers? Don’t worry because Ubisoft has not forgotten about you guys either. The Assassin’s Creed III Digital Deluxe Edition will be available for purchase at $64.99 and in all honestly constitutes a more persuasive package when compared to the console deal. Not only will you be saving almost $60, but you’ll also be enjoying:

  • Three single-player missions
  • Two multiplayer characters (The Sharpshooter and The Redcoat)
  • Two single-player outfits and weapons (The Captain of the Aquila’s uniform, the Colonial Assassin outfit, boarding axe and Scottish flintlock)
  • A collection of audio tracks from the previous AC games
  • George Washington’s Notebook that reveals the truth and secrets during the American Revolution

So these are the options to consider before rushing to hit that ‘pre-order’ button. In any case, the pros and cons of the Limited Edition evens each other out while the PC edition’s trade-off is a longer waiting period since the game’s release still remains undated. The $119 price tag is certainly a harsh one as well, but if you are a longtime fan of the game, no one is forcing you to purchase either set that isn’t necessary to prove your allegiance. You buy the game to enjoy its gameplay to the fullest, and that is what matters the most.
