You heard it right. Fav anime series Sword Art Online will make its US cinematic premier on March 9th, 2016 at select theaters nationwide.
Sword Art Online The Movie – Ordinal Scale will be showing in more than 500 theaters nationwide, so chances are there is one near you.
Presented by Fathom Events, Aniplex of America, Inc. and ELEVEN ARTS, this exclusive one-night event will feature an all new English sub-titled adventure with Kirito, Asuna and company as they explore the world of “Ordinal Scale”.

On March 9 at 8:00 p.m. (local time), beloved anime series Sword Art Online is set to make its U.S. cinematic premiere, with “Sword Art Online The Movie -Ordinal Scale- A Special Event”. The event, presented by Fathom Events, Aniplex of America Inc. and ELEVEN ARTS, will show in more than 500 select movie theaters. At this one-night event anime fans will experience an all-new English subtitled adventure with Kirito, Asuna and their party members as they explore the world of “Ordinal Scale.”
In addition to the full-length feature, the Fathom event will include an exclusive featurette of voice actors Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Kirito) and Haruka Tomatsu (Asuna) discussing Sword Art Online. This content will be in original Japanese with English subtitles. Additional bonus content will be announced shortly.
