Walt Disney was a pioneer and visionary, who co-founded Walt Disney productions the other founder being his brother Roy Disney. Knowing success was imminent, it was reported they had many bickers and disputes, over whose name should have the limelight, (that is, as many of you know the castle shown at the beginning of each film), but they decided that “Walt Disney” had a better ring to it, and that is what you see to this day. You can imagine Roy fighting harder had he known Walt’s name would be the staple logo for anything involved by the company, forever. Blast!

A master in the field of animation, (traditionally hand painted) storytelling, connecting with the audience, screenwriting and producing to name a few. Though some of his input is mentioned here, he had his hand in almost every part of the development process, (during his earlier films of course.)

Why he got people’s attention emotionally, so well, was mainly due to the vast difference in dynamic storytelling that was very alien for that time and still is. Not only did he know everything about motion pictures, his in depth knowledge of the human condition, was as every bit as important, allowing tapping into the human psyche.

It didn’t matter if animations featured animal characters; it could easily be relatable and despite the obvious difference in appearance, seemed very human.

That was Disney’s secret to having audiences turn into blubbering and hysterical wrecks, (myself included) no one drew out such imbedded and perhaps unknown emotion from viewers quite like Walt Disney.

Gaining instant recognition for his amazing work, the awards he received was as instantaneous, numerous Oscars, Emmys and some of the highest accolades the movie industry have to offer, making Walt Disney the most awarded person in cinema history. A meticulous individual was Walt. Workaholic anonymous springs to mind; )

Are they bad at something? Not many feet have been put wrong by the company; you’d be fussy to point out inaccuracies as they have delivered almost every time.

Though Walt Disney is now long gone and his original films now used more for reminiscent viewing, his legacy is still apparent and shining bright. Using his methods as a motto, Walt Disney Productions, (now the official name) has progressed further and further, into new territory breaking people’s expectations again and again. As a result it’s one of the most successful movie productions of all time, which include their very own collection of theme parks dotted around the world.
