TRAILER TALK: Yoga Hosers

From the acclaimed writer/director that brought you Clerks, Red State and Tusk comes Yoga Hosers. That’s right, kids. Kevin Smith has got another one for you! Feast your eyes on the premiere trailer.

Yeah… It’s a lot. Two teenagers, both named Colleen, played by famous daughters Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Depp are living their normal lives, practicing yoga and working at a local convenience store. They just want to be the sophomore girls that get invited to the senior party. There’s just a little something in the way… And that’s a herd of tiny Nazis made from bratwurst, affectionately called Bratzis. The esteemed man-hunter, Guy Lapointe, played by Johnny Depp, is in town and attempting to save Canada from the sausage army and he needs the help of the Colleens.

It’s likely to be Smith’s commentary on young people today smashed together with some great B-movie horror. I mean tiny Nazis made of bratwurst? Who thinks of that? Oh yeah, Kevin Smith.

The film will be the second of Smith’s horror comedy True North trilogy following the 2014 release of the polarizing film Tusk. The finale to the saga will begin filming this summer and is titled Moose Jaws. Smith himself has described it himself as Jaws, but with a moose.

The film premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, will be released July 29th and features some of Smith’s familiar faces like Jason Mewes and Justin Long.

If you’re a fan of Smith’s work then it’s definitely something you shouldn’t miss. And yes, it’s a little out there, but you have to give it up for Smith for putting out some of the most original content Hollywood is offering. Maybe Bratzis aren’t enough to get you to buy a ticket, but then again is Transformers 5?
