It’s been 40 years since Stephen Spielberg’s Close Encounters graced the big screen. Debuting in 1977, the same year as Star Wars, Close Encounters made over $300 million at the box office – that’s over $1.2 billion in today’s dollars.
With special effects from ILM, a fantastic story, superb direction from the master Spielberg, and excellent performances from Richard Dreyfuss, Teri Garr and the supporting cast, the film still wows even today. And we can’t leave out those 5 unforgettable musical notes from John Williams’.
For those too young to have seen it in theaters, now is your chance. For those who did and remember, it’s your chance to experience the Close Encounters awesomeness again … in 4K.
Close Encounters, remastered in 4K, will be in theaters for one week only starting September 1st.
