The Shining – In Theaters!

0

By Elion D on October 21st, 2016

“Heeerre’s Johnny!” This movie scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. Yeah, my parents are cool like that. Anyway, it’s BACK! Just in time for Halloween!

For 2 days only, Stanley Kubrick’s horror suspense masterpiece is back on the big screen courtesy of Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies. If you’re too young to have seen it in theaters, this is your chance to experience these thrills as they were meant to be seen. This is horror the way it’s supposed to be.

From Fathom:

Stanley Kubrick’s Horror Film ‘The Shining’ Returns to the Big Screen for Two Days Only This October

The Haunting Classic Will Screen at Movie Theaters Nationwide on October 23 and 26

“Heeeere’s Johnny!” … back on the big screen just in time for Halloween. Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies and Warner Bros. Entertainment invite you to relive Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece of modern horror, “The Shining” (1980), when it returns to cinemas nationwide for a special two-day event this October as part of Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies’ TCM Big Screen Classics series. “TCM Big Screen Classics: The Shining” will screen Sunday, October 23 and Wednesday, October 26 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time (both days) and will include exclusive commentary by Turner Classic Movies host Ben Mankiewicz.

From a script he co-adapted from the Stephen King novel, director Stanley Kubrick melds vivid performances, menacing settings, dreamlike tracking shots and shock after shock into a macabre milestone. In a signature role, Jack Nicholson plays Jack Torrance, who’s come to the elegant, isolated Overlook Hotel, as the off-season caretaker with his wife (Shelley Duvall) and son (Danny Lloyd). Torrance has never been there before – or has he? The answer lies in a ghostly time warp of madness and murder.

Tickets to “TCM Big Screen Classics: The Shining” can be purchased online from www.FathomEvents.com (theaters and participants are subject to change).
