The Rest of E3

We looked at what Sony and Microsoft brought to E3, but now let’s talk about what everyone else had to say.

Bethesda had leaked some info before the conference, but it just made fans more eager to tune in to see more of Fallout 4. The rebuilding factor gives the game a fresh feel and the fact that you can own your own Pip-Boy that’s compatible with your phone is beyond exciting. Also announced was the surprise mobile game, Fallout Shelter, which is already available and a whole bunch of time-consuming fun. You can oversee your own vault and try to sustain a happy and helpful environment for your Dwellers. It may hold you over until 4 is released in November. We also got to see footage from the fourth installment of the Doom series, as well as Dishonored 2 and The Elder Scrolls: Legends, which appears to be a take on Blizzards card game, Hearthstone. As for EA, we kind of got a mixed bag of goodies. They started off by showing a brief glimpse of the new Mass Effect: Andromeda. I get a weird Firefly/Transformers vibe? Just me?

The game is expected in time for the holiday season of 2016. Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst is dropping in February, Need for Speed will return in November and Madden NFL 16 as well as NBA Live 16 will make their appearances next Fall.

There was also impressive multiplayer footage from Star Wars: Battlefront, which is still in the developmental stages, but will be released this November. The most surprising, and definitely most lovable announcement was the platformer, Unravel.

Ubisoft gave us a lot of Tom Clancy titles. There was The Division and Rainbow Six: Siege, both who have been covered at previous conventions and then the return of a series with Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Division is hoping for a March ’16 release while Siege will be released October 13th. There was For Honor, which is a melee-only-free-for-all involving a vast array of characters. Then there was the sequel to Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s South Park role player The Stick of Truth, which is the perfectly named The Fractured But Whole. Of course, we got to see the annual trailer for Assassin’s Creed, this time Syndicate, which will be released October 23rd. Check out the presser here.

Nintendo played it close to the chest by announcing some spinoffs like Mario Maker, Mario Tennis, The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes, Metroid Prime: Federation Forge, Yoshi’s Woolly World, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. Also, the return of Starfox coming out this holiday season. Watch the conference here.

Square Enix wrapped things up at E3 with a peek at Just Cause 3, due out this December, a new NieR title, Kingdom Hearts 3, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and a new installment of Hitman. You can catch that here.

There it is! One of the best E3s in history, wrapped in a condensed and pretty package.
