The Dark Knight Impressions

The “Dark Knight Rises” is one of the most anticipated films being released in 2012 and frankly it looks literally brilliant, if the previous film is anything to go by then, we can expect more of the same, like fantastic plot twists, set pieces, kick-ass action and superb acting. If it is the last installment of the trilogy it will most certainly go out with a bang. Though I and the fans would have been happy if “TDK” was the last film.

The first “Batman Begins” was a worthy start to a fantastic trilogy, but it’s the second that really captured peoples imagination.

“The Dark Knight” is arguably the best film of the beloved hero that’s hit our screens, after Michael Keating threw on the black leather, in Tim Burton’s “Batman” it soon became rare afterwards to see something as good. Some entertaining value sure, but nothing that quite hit the mark. If like me you watched everything to do with the Knight for years, or still are watching, you’ll know it keeps true to the background of Bruce Wayne his origins and how he became the legendary caped crusader.

What some of the other director’s haven’t tried in there films, which this one does well, is to have it set in a real world, not one that hinges to much on the comic surrealism and giving it less flamboyancy. What you get is not so much the Superman/X-Men element (struggling to envisage the reality) but more a good degree of plausibility. Its mixture of plots and subplots in DK weave around the entirety of the film’s structure stealthily and the performances are simply superb and some can be unnerved by the sheer authenticity of the acting, with the late Heath Ledger receiving an Oscar.

The location is a good choice and seemingly gives the audience a sense of vertigo and apprehension, that the “Knight could leap out from any number of the buildings the camera sweeps by, some fantastic wide angle shots of the buildings and structural monuments (characters in themselves) leaving one scanning all the ledges he could leap out from. In conclusion the film(s) are well thought out and written, making it the best interpretation of a superhero character on a film format.

The next film I’m thinking of, Batman Vs Superman, c’mon!? Bit of kryptonite, gadgets sorted! Anyone?
