Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow Get Teased

0

By Carly Fjeld on May 21st, 2015

A pair of television trailers have got people buzzing this week. One good, and the other not necessarily as good.

The first teaser we’ll look at is from The CW and their Arrow/The Flash spin-off, Legends of Tomorrow.

Sure, the dialogue is a little choppy, but man does it seem like it’s going to be good. Against most expectations, The CW is insanely good at adapting comic for television and this trailer is trying hard to exceed those with high hopes. Admittedly this is just the first TV spot for the series coming in 2016, but it packs a punch and some familiar faces. It will be exciting to see what comes out in the next while regarding these Time Masters and Legends of Tomorrow. The series is being developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim who have all previously developed both Arrow and The Flash.

Next up is Supergirl premiering later this year on CBS. Check it out.

It’s not nearly as terrible as some outlets are accusing, but it’s not competing with Arrow or The Flash in terms of effects and action. I think the biggest problem is that it goes on a little too long and feels overly explanatory. Melissa Benoist as Supergirl/Kara Danvers is definitely likable, but some things come out sounding dry and laughable. I’m not saying the show will be bad, in fact I have hope that CBS can work it into something that can get a wide audience to watch before the show premieres in November. The show was created by Kreisberg, who also helped create and writes for the other CW series, so have a little faith that the pilot can differ vastly from what the show will actually be.

Which series are you most excited about?
