Spider-Man’s Identity Revealed in Obituary

Usually, we know all about superheroes. We are made aware of their real lives and their top secret identities. We’re privileged to be able to enjoy their adventures. In late November, the world lost Aaron Purmort. Purmort died at the young age of 35 of a brain tumor. His moving obituary gives us insight to who he truly was:

Purmort, Aaron Joseph age 35, died peacefully at home on November 25 after complications from a radioactive spider bite that led to years of crime-fighting and a years long battle with a nefarious criminal named Cancer, who has plagued our society for far too long. Civilians will recognize him best as Spider-Man, and thank him for his many years of service protecting our city. His family knew him only as a kind and mild-mannered Art Director, a designer of websites and t-shirts, and concert posters who always had the right cardigan and the right thing to say (even if it was wildly inappropriate). Aaron was known for his long, entertaining stories, which he loved to repeat often.

His incredible tribute ran in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune and his wife, Nora, has written about their time as a family over at My Husband’s Tumor. If you read her posts, you realize that while Aaron may not have been Spider-Man, he was a true, brave, and magnificent hero. It is noted that his son, Ralph, will be responsible for avenging his father’s untimely death, and we’ll have to wait and see how Ralph’s adventure unfolds.

Sometimes, we need to be reminded that there are superheroes among us, fighting villains that lurk inside. Nora and Ralph could use some continued financial support, which you can help out with below. If you can’t afford to donate, what you can do is head over to Nora’s site and leave some kids words and emotional support, because that’s what they really need. It never hurts to be in the good graces of the family of a superhero.
