Legend of The Seeker 2×16 Desecrated

The lives of Kahlan, Zedd and Cara are in jeopardy when the Seeker stands between a dark avenger and a group of villagers marked for death. Kahlan and Zedd go off to a village to get supplies, leaving Richard and Cara to tend the camp. Kahlan rushes back to say they were being attacked by gars, leading them to an old barn where Zedd, Kahlan and the Duke of the province hold a surprise birthday party for him.

During the party, a magician tricks Cara and Kahlan into his two boxes then traps them in a tomb with no way out and only a day’s worth of air. He demands Richard kill five men in the village including the Duke’s son to avenge his own sons. Richard refuses then discovers that the Duke had lied to prevent his own son and his friends from fighting in the war against D’Hara, favoring them while others died in their place. Kahlan and Cara communicate with Richard via a journey book which is intercepted by the magician, who leads them to a false tomb.

There, Richard unknowingly releases a creature of revenge. The creature, controlled by the magician, is ordered to kill the five men who cheated death, while Cara and Kahlan desperately try to find a way out. Richard kills the creature, releasing the man on whom the spell had been cast but Zedd is captured by the loose magic and becomes the creature itself, Kahlan asks Cara to kill her, so that Cara could live until Richard found them. But Cara refuses and tells Kahlan her life is more important and volunteers. Richard tries to force the magician to release Zedd, Cara and Kahlan but he kills himself.

Richard finds a map of the tombs in the Mage’s bag and they know where the two women are. Cara tells Kahlan she thinks of her as a friend and Kahlan agrees that she too thinks the same way. The two fight, using up their air as Cara tries to give Kahlan a chance to live by killing herself, but they pass out. The Duke plans to kill Zedd but Richard arrives after saving the two women and the duke is accidently turned into the creature freeing Zedd. His son helps Richard trap it in its crypt forever and the four continue on their quest for the Stone.
