IRL: Life on Saturn? NASA Says…

Maybe.

Recently NASA released it’s discoveries of the chemical reactions necessary to life that are similar to those on Earth. These chemical reactions indicate the potential for microbial life on Saturn’s moon Enceladus, which is already known to contain oceans.

Since Earth’s oceans all have life, and life on Earth as we know it originated in our oceans, it’s proposed that these phenomena are strong indications of possible life on Enceladus.

An expedition is being planned by NASA now to send a spacecraft through the geysers occurring as a result of these hydrogen reactions. The spacecraft will be able to scan for life as it passes through the geysers. [Science Friday Audio clip]

What do you think? Will we find life on Saturn’s moon? And what will happen if we do? Tell us below in the comments or on Facebook.
