Here at Sci-Fi Bloggers, we love taking a look new technology, games, apps, etc. We were getting ready to do an app review when our good friend and guest writer, Marlo Clingman, was in the neighborhood. We let her take a look. These are her thoughts.

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Honestli. All opinions are 100% mine.
While social media sites are great for connecting with friends, they are also important networking tools. Many social media users, myself included, prefer to refrain from expressing viewpoints that may turn potential employers away. I want my social media usage to reflect my personal and professional identity, so that means avoiding posting every little thing that pops into my head. However, I often still feel compelled to share my contentious opinions somewhere. That’s where Honestli comes in.
When I downloaded this app, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect based on the App Store description. The free app promises anonymity and the freedom to “speak openly into a world free from friends and family seeing every photo and idea you want to post.” The anonymity is definitely a bonus. It’s nice to have a place to share a controversial opinion without inciting an argument with a friend or risking the judgment of a coworker on social media. Honestli eliminates the need for concern about whether your ideas will rub someone the wrong way – a person can easily block you or comment if they disagree. The app is also a great place to post silly pictures and memes with reckless abandon without the possibility of annoying your Facebook friends. Added bonus: without my name or face attached to my username, it makes it much harder for government robots to track my movements. Big Brother is always watching you!
The Entertainment section is where I’ll be spending the majority of my time, and I think it could be a great outlet for any film and television buff. Maybe you’re a sci-fi fan who secretly hates Star Trek and can’t bear to reveal it to your loyal Trekkie friends. Perhaps you have a convincing argument for why Ender’s Game (2013) is actually an excellent piece of cinema. Even though you are horribly, horribly wrong, you are absolutely entitled to air your ridiculous opinion on Honestli. I like this app because it allows me to express my sentiments without having them permanently attached to my identity as an individual.
Honestli is available both on the App Store and Google Play for the incredibly low price of free. Also, before you go, don’t forget to participate in the app’s upcoming giveaway!
Thanks for reading! We’ll be bringing you more sci-fi and fantasy updates soon enough!
