How To Get To The Final Wave In Squadron Tower Defense

Starcraft II is the sequel to the incredibly popular Starcraft.  It was released in 2010.  It is an RTS (Real Time Strategy) game that is one of the best known in the world.  What a lot of people who don’t play the game don’t know is that it contains an arcade area where people can create their own games and put them up for others to play.  This of course, leads to a lot of interesting games and a lot of fun.  One of the most popular games lately has been Squadron Tower Defense.

Squadron Tower Defense is, as I’m sure you guessed, a tower defense game.  It is played 4v4 with each player holding a lane, each of which leads to the security system in the middle.  If the security system is destroyed, the team loses.  Before each wave you will have some time to build towers.  These will defend against the creatures that come and attack you, which are known as creeps.  After you destroy all of the creeps, your remaining towers will warp to the middle in front of the security system to fight any creeps that got through other player’s defenses.

It’s easy to get to the Final Wave as long as you have decent teammates and know what you’re doing.  If your teammates drag you down, don’t beat yourself up.  Remember that your towers are meant to stop your wave, not everyone’s.  That being said, you certainly can’t let your guard down.  If you start leaking wave after wave, it is almost always better to quit out so that you stop hurting your team.

The cornerstone of getting to the final wave is economy.  You will need to have a good economy in order to do well.  That means that you need to balance economy and defense spending every round.  Make sure you have enough to beat the wave so that you all of the resources from the wave, and so that your workers don’t slow down for a time.  Spend any extra minerals you have on workers.  Around wave 25 you should have a maxed out economy.  If you keep sending, then you should be making around 1000 minerals a round by the time you get to the final wave.

The best unit in the game is the Seer of Darkness.  (Though perhaps it has been nerfed, I don’t know)  It only takes 2o percent damage from enemy attacks as long as it has energy.  It uses 10 energy each time it uses this ability.  By putting some the upgraded form of the disciple behind Seers, the Seers will regenerate energy much faster, making them a lot harder to kill.  A good custom build is:

Level 1: Spectre

Level 2: Wanderer

Level 3: Saint

Level 4: Outcast

Level 5: Disciple

Level 6: Seer of Darkness

This build will give you the incredible defense abilities of the Seer of Darkness, along with defensive support from the Saint and Disciple.  The upgraded Wanderer and Spectre provide offensive support.  I’ve found that the Outcast is a good unit to use until you have the resources to build Seers of Darkness.  It is the unit that the elemental builder lacks.  You will have a hard time beating waves without a decent tank unit.  If you use the Infantry unit instead of the wanderer, and use Pyro units, then you can use a different 4th level unit.

If you practice a few times with this build you should have no trouble figuring out what you need to combat each wave and when you can spend resources on your economy.  Once you figure that out, you shouldn’t have any trouble at all getting to the final wave, and of course, beating it.
