Apple had a big event this weekend and introduced plenty of cool things like the Apple Watch and a new MacBook, but let’s talk about the really important thing that came out of this. Let’s talk about Game of Thrones.
Apple announced that HBO’s long-awaited streaming service, HBO Now, will be exclusive (at least for a few months) to Apple devices. The service will cost $14.99 a month and will begin in April. You know what else comes in April? Winter. Well, sort of, because Game of Thrones will premiere its fifth season on April 12th. Get a look at the trailer right here:
Let’s start with Daenerys Targaryen’s haunting speech that plays over the beginning:
Lannister. Baratheon. Stark. Tyrell. They’re all just spokes on a wheel. This one’s on top, then that one’s on top and on and on it spins. Crushing those on the ground. I’m not going to stop the wheel. I’m going to break the wheel.
Guys, the Mother of Dragons means business, but apparently so does everyone else because swords and blood are flying. Everyone wants a piece of that Iron Throne and we’re going to get a ton of action throughout the season. There are a ton of fun snippets that give viewers an idea of what to expect and suspect. Looks like there will be another wedding with Margaery, and we know weddings in The Seven Kingdoms turn out. Tyrion sees a dragon and hopefully that means that Daenerys will get some face time with the cast of characters she’s been separated from for the past four seasons. Stannis and Jon Snow seem to have their hands full with battles and armies and we can only hope that Arya and Stansa Stark will finally be reunited. With a massive cast of characters, each episode is going to be jam-packed with action, excitement and absolute heartbreak. You should know by now not to become attached to anyone on the show. Winter is actually coming this season, and I have a feeling there will be plenty of bodies piling up.
