Welcome to a world where people can pretend to be heroes and slay monsters!
But we don’t want the monsters to actually get hurt. For one, that’s not very cost-effective.
So, a solution was born. Take real monsters, put them into their own little virtual world, and let them play. Everyone’s happy.
But who will take care of the monsters when they aren’t being used for games?
