Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion Want You!

Our favorite leaf on the wind and Captain Tightpants are back and looking to share their story with the world. Well, sort of their story.

Actors Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion from the great cult classic series, Firefly, are looking to crowdfund a web series entitled Con Man, which is loosely based on Tudyk and Fillion’s experiences after the success of their short lived series. Tudyk plays Wray Nerely, an actor appearing on the gone-too-soon television show, Spectrum. After the series ended, Nerely became a master of the sci-fi circuit but did not go on to achieve the major star status that his friend and co-star, Jack Moore (played by Fillion), has.

It’s not surprising that the series easily surpassed its IndieGoGo funding goal of $425,000 for the first three 10-minute episodes and currently sits at over $2,000,000 raised while the campaign will come to a close on April 10th. The excess funds will contribute to more episodes that will appear on Vimeo On Demand.

Fans are eager to see Tudyk and Fillion share the screen again and the actors are excited to tell their weird stories, encounters and how they became okay with the massive success of a single, career-defining show. There are plenty of perks available for those who contribute and some of the more exclusive packages are selling out. I suggest grabbing a piece of this action sooner rather than later.

You can check out the introduction video featuring Tudyk and Fillion right here:

So endearing, right? It’s informational but entertaining and you can sense that this is something Tudyk really wants to make. There are great cameos in the intro vid. The intro vid! Imagine how great this thing is going to be.

There’s also a quick teaser for Con Man. Check it out!

Are you going to contribute?
