Some Sci-medy

0

By azzib287 on April 18th, 2013

Did you like the title? No? Well, I’m sure you’ll be interested in the list created here detailing some of the best films that Sci-Fi comedy have to offer, if you like seeing people whizzing around on space crafts for example, around space and laughing too. Then take a look at these gems.

 5) Evolution.

One of my favourites in the “Sci-medy” genre, it features Sean William Scott at his best still, and a group of actors that add to the all-round comedy of the film, as they try to eradicate an alien parasite that thinks it can just crash land in the desert without a passport how dare it, everyone gets treated the same… parasite or not.

 4) Men in Black.

What this film or series of films (and I do recommend you watch them) does so well is blend the comedy and serious/action moments, not putting you in a rollercoaster of emotions, but more a subtle cruise speed, not so much a laugh out loud for some but certainly has its moments of glory.

 3) Paul.

From the notable works of Simon Peg and Nick Frost, they bring to screen a charming comedy, which includes an Alien who happens to smoke weed and wants to return home, why not! Hiring the unpaid help of the duo, who happen to be on a comic con holiday, they must evade pursuers whom are intent on capturing Paul for unsavoury reasons, certainly not to ask if he wants to go for a drink. Definitely worth a watch!

 2) Shaun of the Dead.

Another Fantastic comedy by the same duo in Paul, and if it wasn’t for the amazing visuals in Hitchhikers this would certainly be on  the top spot, for its originality, chemistry between actors and it’s script quality.  This was the only zombie film that cleverly managed to include comedy into it, it wasn’t ever attempted due to the nature of the violence involved in such films, and if you can stand some of the violence then it’s worth a rent.

 1) Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

I’m sure you’ve heard about this from the very popular book, if you read it I recommend having a look at the film version, if you haven’t done so already, as it has some hilarious moments. If you know nothing about the book or film then, try the film and then the book, and see how it compares. Obviously it has some thorough information in it that can shed some light on many of the areas in the film. As for the film it has UK’s The Office star Martin Freeman and Alan Rickman who is simply hilarious as always. Some incredible visuals as mentioned, making it the perfect night in, with the best in Sci-medy has to offer.
