The Star Trek Legacy

0

By azzib287 on December 14th, 2012

“Space! The final frontier these are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. It’s continuing mission, to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before.”

Sums up Star Trek perfectly, a starting monologue such as that, how can you not have a warm fuzzy feeling inside. You’re literally watching a bunch of people travel across space, seeing what they can check out. The premiseĀ is “Bold” and was a massive undertaking, but it “boldly” ; ) went to many hearts and won them over. Unlike Star Wars I was admittedly never a huge fan, with the (earlier) Star Trek series, but you can certainly see how you could be drawn to it. With ever growing technology and almost everything being turned into HD, (seriously I’m wondering if chairs will be in HD in the future) the original series is more an antique/classic you look at in appreciation, it is a spectacular vision, but that vision hasn’t had a better time than now to be portrayed.

Since the furthest man can remember, there has always been a loving fascination with the stars, Galileo was hooked, Aristotle no doubt and Isaac Newton was loving it. So when we see an example, a perspective of what space could be like on our screens, and the only traveling we have to do is to the toilet every once in a while, then popularity is going to be inevitable.

Speaking of which the popularity still present is a true marvel in itself, and appears to be addictively appealing (in a good way), like Star Wars, Star Trek has developed a massive franchise with more than 10 features, and venturing out into other avenue’s such as toys, novels and games.

To an already troll like franchise the newest edition of “Star Trek” the sequel is set for release in 2013, following on from an action packed movie that was more than successful. There isn’t a trailer as of yet as its still in its initial development, but fans will like this as an alternative to wet those appetites. Check it out here.
