Live-action “Halo 4” Coming This Fall
Fans of the extremely popular Halo series of videos games will be delighted to discover that a live-action version will be premiering in the fall of this year. Before you get your hopes up, this is not the long anticipated feature film version of the Xbox games, but, instead a multi-part web-series to be released through gamer video giant Machinima (home of the very well received Dragonage: Redemption tie-in), and through the online community Halo Waypoint.
The series is being made possible due to a hefty endowment from Microsoft, which “represents the largest investment Microsoft has made in a live-action show to date,” according to this article in Variety. The software giant previously attempted to develop the feature version of Halo in 2005, but was unsuccessful.
According to reports, the series, which will be titled Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, will center around a cadet at UNSC, who is inspired by Halo‘s main character, Master Chief, and later becomes a leader on the UNSC Infinity ship. It will be released in 15-minute weekly installments, ahead of the November 6th release date of the Halo 4 game, and will offer background into the plotline of that game.
