The totally awesome and very latest addition to the Jurassic Park franchise hit the webs with an action-packed trailer recently, and people are getting a little excited. Now we’ve learned a few things about Jurassic World, and have some idea of what to expect when the film hits theaters this summer.
Firstly, they got the theme park up and running! And it looks absolutely incredible and despite the risks and certain inevitable destruction, I would get on a boat tomorrow to get to Isla Nublar. However, as is the case with most parks, it seems the popularity has worn off. Right, like people are going to get bored with dinosaurs. So to get people talking, they do what the corporate world always does: they make a new attraction. But the scientists over at Jurassic World had to create a new and massive reptile, and it doesn’t go well. We don’t get a good peek at the new species, so hopefully when it’s revealed on screen it’s not too awful.
Secondly, it looks like Chris Pratt won’t be playing the quick-witted Peter Quill character he established in Guardians of the Galaxy, which I think is great. I mean, dinosaur on the loose with tons of people in danger is not a place for one-liners. He does look awesome and totally badass though.
Thirdly, people seem to be upset with the CGI, but those are just your average YouTube commenters. Apparently the CGI is unfinished, but I thought it looked pretty great. It’s just hard to find well-trained velociraptors these days.
Lastly, it looks like there’s going to be some scared kids in the kitchen, which is too great to put into words. Also, what are that guy form The Office and the infinitely talented Judy Greer thinking sending their kids to an island inhabited with dinosaurs alone?! Child protection services, I’m just saying.
