Top 10 Games in Sci-Fi and Fantasy

As any fan will say in these two genres, games are a plenty. As ever with a top ten, you’ll discover some great titles, gone from the list. But the task has already been set and we’ve calculated, the popularity, ratings and the accolades received, giving you the best collection worthy of the title “Top 10  in Sci-Fi and Fantasy.”

10) Resident Evil – Many films and games are out already, around since the early 90’s when Playstation 1 was the bee’s knee’s, if you like zombies (not literally) then definitely check these out.

 9) Dead Space – This was a late starter from EA, it didn’t spark immediate interest, but it’s now increasing in popularity. Some fantastic space flight sequences and graphics. Not many flaws.

8) Killzone – If you want to shoot continuously going through rounds and rounds of bullets then this would be your ideal choice. It’s popularity is due in no small part to the, impressive cut scenes, story and battles. Worth a look when you next go to your local game/rental shop.

7) Skyrim – Warning! Anyone who liked “Lord of the Rings” would do well to get onto this bandwagon. The much talk of the graphics and serene scenery is no lie, it does look beautiful and there’s plenty to do. Can feel repetitive from the absence of cut scenes, that are more dominant in other games.

6) Final Fantasy – Much like the James Bond or FIFA franchise the demand for this is still rock solid, and you can see why. Some very creative and imaginative game-play.

5) Arkham City – Batman – Fans of the heroic character, may have wondered if a Batman game as good as this one, would ever be made. But Arkham Asylum and especially Arkham City appear to be the best rendition of Batman on a gaming platform I’ve ever seen. Staying true to the comics and history of the hero. Very popular!

4) Halo – More than 2 games out, an inevitable film on the horizon and some loyal fans whom would stick with this franchise, should it do a Final Fantasy. Widely Popular. Advance weaponry, spaceships and some great multi-player fun. Need I say more?

3) Assassin’s Creed – With more than 5 games out, this widely popular franchise, has been doing very well, with awards, special editions and facebook playability. Fantastic cut scenes, open world and combos.

2) World of Warcraft – MMO, and isn’t it just, hugely popular game that keeps growing in it’s members, massive open world, lot’s to do. It would appear SWTOR is hot on it’s heels however, but I don’t think WOW will ever lose it’s devoted fans.

 1) Mass Effect – Well…Not much to say about this little gem, in terms of flaws. Having finished the incredible 3rd installment in the trilogy, it’s overwhelming cut scenes,  intiated by the decently designed decision system, only made the game more frustratingly addictive and (forgive me for saying this) awesome. Star Wars equivalent in gaming with a difference. Brilliant!
