Let Your Imagination Soar
If I’m frank, this is the Top 5 of the most brilliant, incredible and awesome Sci-Fi and Fantasy books known to man, right before your very eyes. Exaggerated slightly? More adjectives? : )
5) Angels and Demons – Dan Brown.
A solid novel addressing the religion and science feud, showing there constant disagreements to one another, that’s spanned over many years. This book is very controversial in some parts, mainly from stating religion as a bogus concept outright, (is probably where some had a slight issue,) it’s always been a rocky history, why both sides can’t all get along, kiss and make up, no one knows. The best out of the four, edging it over Da Vinci Code, though considered the most controversial.
4) Lord Of the Rings – J.R.R. Tolkien.
How many of you had no idea of these books before the films came out? Don’t lie!; ) I didn’t. There were some who thought it was adult material until they looked closer to find it was just fantasy. A fantastic series of books, all though brilliant, the films are only a taster compared to what the books offer.
3) The Stand – Stephen King.
Considered as Stephen King’s greatest achievement and the greatest sized book too evidently, jeez! My arm almost fell off when I held it. Once you get into the book you’ll find yourself racing through the pages in no time, it helps (if your really into it,) to have a considerable chunk of time out of your life, as mentioned it’s a whole 1424 pages long (the uncut edition.)
2) Jurassic Park – Michael Crichton.
It’s easy to think of Mr Spielbergs success and clear quality his created in the film, but many don’t have a lot to say about the guy responsible for the film in the first place. The book has more information that fills in some very interesting holes, the film cannot explain in the better part of 2 hours as most films adapted from books can’t do. The movie doesn’t quite cut the mustard, in terms of information.
1) Harry Potter – J.K. Rowling.
Its popularity is seemingly endless, with books still flying off the shelves and is still viral as much as it was at the peak of its fame. Over 50 million books sold, 8 films released over several years, so much so, we see the reoccurring actors in the films have growth spurts, from kids to adults. All films are at least over 60% on three film critic sites. Well over 7 billion grossed at the box office. “So… A successful franchise then.”
