Imagine the scale of stars for a moment.
It’s difficult, isn’t it? Thinking about stuff that big, out in solar systems that big, with so much emptiness between them?
Well, this story is not going to make that any easier.
Our unnamed narrator is a fan of contrasts. He likes thinking about the similarities between two very different things. And, at any other time, he could’ve lived a happy life just pondering those concepts. He might’ve brought it up at parties, or even on dates.
But his idle thoughts are more relevant than he knows. And everyone on Earth is about to get a crash course on those concepts.

And, return, next week, for a story that stays a little more down-to-earth, but is nevertheless still quite frightening.
