FRIDAY FICTION: The Calm

Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please? You’ve been patient. You’ve been diligent. You’ve been loyal. Now, for demonstrating such tremendous qualities, such incredible attributes, such unbelievable resolve, you shall be rewarded! Friends, bloggers, Earthlings, lend me your ears! The time has come, yet again, for you to get your proper dose of excitement, adventure, and intrigue! People of the Net, without further delay, I present to you this week’s Friday Fiction!

Now, this week is an interesting one. As you may be aware, Dylan Alexander has been spending the last two weeks preparing the next episode of Path to Nowhere. It will be either the final or next-to-last chapter of Volume One. Now, with the said, the tale will not be told this week, for the reason that Alexander will not have it published until it has been meticulously crafted and edited to the point that it is, in his eyes and in those of the many artists who collaborate with him, as close to perfect as possible. So, one should not view this as a negative, rather a grand positive, for as far as I, the Fictionmonger, am concerned, the need for extra time to write and create is quite indicative of the care put into the work. I for one wouldn’t mind if it took another two weeks for the piece to be completed. And better yet, for those who aren’t caught up, you can read the first, second, third, and fourth episodes of Path to Nowhere right here on Sci-Fi Bloggers!

Now, as for what’s new, I know what you’ve been waiting for. You’re in search of something eerie, something that stays with you during the long nights. Well, you want it? You’ve got it. Ladies and gentlemen, this week on Friday Fiction, from the versatile mind of Brandon Scott, comes the chilling tale you’ve sought since you arrived here…

The Calm. CLICK HERE to begin reading.

That’s all for this week, folks! Don’t worry, more will come soon, as Sci-Fi Bloggers is growing bigger and better with each passing day!

Stories are important. Stories feed the mind and inspire the heart. They lift the spirit and challenge the imagination. They have the ability to predict what the future will be, and have the power to reveal the past in a light unseen before. Stories take people to worlds they thought never existed, worlds they thought couldn't exist. But they can, and they do. Stories make them a reality. Stories make them into truth. Don’t underestimate them (don’t tell me you haven’t before, we all have, even me). They are, collectively, the gateway to utopias, dystopias, kingdoms, planets and universes unlike anything on Earth—or, in some cases, all too much like Earth. Stories can wake people up from their brainwashed states and get them active in the world, doing things they wouldn't have had they not heard or read or seen them. Stories can save lives. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE STORIES, AND DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE YOUR ABILITY TO CREATE THEM.
