Best Game of Thrones Sites
HBO’s wonderful adaption of George R. R. Martin’s exciting, jaw-dropping series, Game of Thrones, is one of the most popular series on television today. Now, with the fourth season’s trailer released, the number of websites dedicated to the series is continuously growing. Yet, these four websites are perhaps the best for any Game of Thrones fan:
A Wiki of Ice and Fire is definitely your perfect source for everything relating to George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series. I accidentally stumbled across this excellent site when I first began reading the series, and it really helped me distinguish between the large cast of characters. With a collection of detailed character profiles, a history of the Game of Thrones universe and comprehensive chapter summaries, this is a Game of Thrones fan’s ultimate encyclopaedia of the franchise.
After reading the books and watching the show, I wanted to interact with the Game of Thrones community. I found A Forum of Ice and Fire, which is by the same people who created A Wiki of Ice and Fire – Westeros.com. This is without a doubt the perfect place for Game of Thrones fans to discuss various topics relating to the franchise: the book series, George R. R. Martin, the television show, the characters, conventions, anything!
WinterIsComing.net is a truly excellent site for all fans to read about any news, rumours and discussions regarding the HBO Game of Thrones television series. The site has been active since the pilot episode was commissioned, and has been following the production of the series ever since.
I have only recently stumbled across Race for the Iron Throne, but it has quickly become one of my favourite Game of Thrones websites. The blog is currently devoted to giving a chapter-by-chapter analysis of each book of the A Song of Ice and Fire series, all of which are beautifully in-depth. It gives a political analysis, a historical analysis, some what-if scenarios and compares the chapter to what happens in the show.
