Award Winning Filmmaker to Kickstart New Ambitious Sci-Fi Feature Project – The Father
Austin, Texas writer/director Stephen Belyeu and Producers Christian Sosa and Ben Oliver are gearing up to produce an 80s throwback sci-fi on 16mm film (donated and sponsored by KODAK). Much like Stephen’s debut 16mm feature, Dig, Stephen aims to produce and direct his new project, The Father, on a micro-budget. The way these filmmakers intend on doing this is by going back to an old-school style of filmmaking. Instead of using CGI or advanced digital effects, Stephen and his crew are returning to practical special effects and animatronics. With modern producing techniques applied to an older style of filmmaking, Stephen hopes to bring audiences a unique indie sci-fi that pays homage to the films that paved the way in this genre.
