Assassin’s Creed III Liberation’s Aveline: Don’t Mess With My Wardrobe

0

By Shirayuki on August 27th, 2012

Her name is Aveline de Grandpré and she’ll be teaching you not to judge a woman by her cover. Beneath that exotic façade lies a deadly assassin who will not think twice about cutting you down regardless of gender or appearances. For PlayStation Vita fans worldwide, it comes as no surprise that Assassin’s Creed III Liberation is one of the must-haves in any gamer’s collection. With a female protagonist now taking center stage, Ubisoft sure played their cards right this time around by alleviating the Assassin’s Creed fanbase to a whole new level of appreciation by men and women across the globe. The masterful heroine who will fight for freedom in New Orleans is accompanied not only by her acrobatic skills but a lethal wardrobe that will promise killer surprises.

From a feathered hat to an elaborate frock with a tight bodice, Aveline immediately portrays herself as a lady with rank that permits her to ease her way past guards or certain restricted districts without the slightest suspicion. How can she fight when she’s dressed so conservatively? Don’t you fret because Madame Aveline isn’t all show and no play. Beneath those laced sleeves lie the signature hidden blades accompanied by a demure parasol which is in fact a poisonous dart gun. Our fighter will definitely be utilizing her access to the dressing rooms that are scattered around the city to her advantage. Another significant outfit is the “pauper” that prevents her from standing out from the crowd since the poor are often ignored. That said, she proves to be not just a worthy assassin but also a truly deceptive master of disguise. The constant costume change only goes to show the judgmental nature of society that easily judges one another based on appearance and immediately places you into a certain hierarchy within their minds. Cunning as she is, Aveline will no doubt use such weakness to her advantage and carry out her missions undetected.

Apparently Ubisoft has plenty of features in store for us and it is safe to admit that the game is looking brilliant thus far. On a personal note, I only wished it would have been a separate game entirely for my Xbox 360 but hey, maybe I’ll just harmlessly harass a friend who owns a Vita. Assassin’s Creed III Liberation hits the stores on October 30th and is currently up for pre-order. Before you hit that back button, check out the extended gameplay trailer below that will tempt you further to slip into Aveline’s magisterial shoes:
