TRAILER TALK: The Lego Batman Movie
If 2016’s Batman movie just wasn’t for you then maybe you’ll have better luck in 2017. No one has been disappointed by Legos! Unless you’ve stepped on one before…
Yes, in 2017 we will see Lego’s return to the screen with The Lego Batman Movie. Super busy writer Seth Grahame-Smith (currently working on The Flash and Beetlejuice 2 scripts) will team up with director Chris McKay to give sassy Batman from the original Lego Movie his own movie. Will Arnett returns as Bruce Wayne and fans are given a peek at the Batcave in this first teaser.
It’s great that Will Arnett’s natural voice blows whatever Christian Bale was trying to do away. Anyway, the film looks great! We’ve got action, epic team-ups and some downtime with the Batman himself. And Arnett isn’t the only star here. From the limited voices we do know there will be Rosario Dawson playing Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, but in true Lego fashion its likely that more famous faces (er, voices) will be showing up. Word on the street is that most of the guys who have played Batman in the past will be showing up in some capacity.
That’s not the only look at the film we get, because Batman wanted you to know that his parents are still dead. Yup, they still don’t make it. Check out the second trailer below.
I can’t get enough of Alfred calling out previous Bat installments. I am also loving the fact that two rap songs, one of which I thought was The Lonely Island but instead turns out to be legitimate rappers by the name of V.I.C. and Hurricane Chris, fit so perfectly into a film meant for children and adults.
Be on the lookout for when the Bat flies into your neck of the woods on February 10th, 2017!
